Dodge Omni is Dodge’s lucky charm. It was introduced at a time when Chrysler, Dodge’s parent company, was facing great financial difficulties. In its efforts to save the company from its demise, Chrysler sought for the US government’s financial help. The Dodge Omni and its twin model, the Plymouth Horizon, which were new that time showed great potential; thus, the government granted Chrysler’s loan.

The Dodge Omni was indeed a great vehicle. Its hatchback body style signified its utility and versatility. Just after it was launched, it was awarded as Motor Trend’s Car of the Year for 1978. With fame though, came some controversies. A magazine, which drive tested it, said it’s unsafe and hard to maneuver. Luckily, the damage was alleviated by other auto magazines that commented the driving conditions in the said test drive were far from real driving conditions. Dodge Omni, eventually was out of controversies and continued to generate good sales all the way through 1990 its last year of production.

Exterior Upgrade

“Old” doesn’t mean old-looking. Yes, you may consider a Dodge Omni old for its age but it doesn’t mean it must retire now in your old dusty garage. You can freshen up its looks and make it still fun to drive even if it’s already old. Auto Parts Deal has a great variety of stylish and high quality exterior auto parts for the Dodge Omni including Dodge tailgates, Dodge fog lights, Dodge grill, chrome or silver Dodge grille guard and Dodge headlights.

Aside from enhancing the way your car looks, auto lights and the mirrors are important to your safety so adding them to your car can reduce risks of meeting accidents. Some of these auto parts did not come to your auto as standard equipments so you need to get them from trusted Dodge auto parts dealer like Auto Parts Deal.

Interior Upgrade

The car’s interior becomes your temporary home while you are on a long trip or even just a short drive. Keeping it clean and comfortable is a must so you can always have an enjoyable ride. Among the things that you often neglect in upgrading your car are the carpets and the floor mats. These car accessories are very important too as they protect the floor panel from getting stained, scratched or wet. They also prevent corrosion or formation of rust as well.

Keeping your old Dodge Omni or any old vehicle clean and looking good does not only reduce stress level while driving but it can also increase your car’s resale value. Furthermore, continuously upgrading your exterior and interior Dodge Omni parts can help you prolong the life of your car while you save from future repair expenses.

Dodge Buzz: Upcoming Models PDF Print E-mail

DaimlerChrysler’s Dodge division has certainly been making a name for itself over the past decade. No longer in the shadow of Chrysler or a carbon copy of Plymouth, Dodge has its own vehicles stamped with its own unique personality. The Charger is Dodge’s latest hot model; what can Dodge do for an encore? Read on for all the exciting details!

Caliber – The compact Neon is dead and a replacement vehicle is waiting in the wings by the name of Caliber. Sporting Dodge’s signature crosshair grille, the Caliber resembles a Chrysler Pacifica but it is in the Chrysler PT Cruiser’s size range. This five door wagon-like vehicle features jacked up wheel arches and a sloped roofline that tapers off to a rear hatch spoiler. On demand all wheel drive is expected to be one of the car’s options. Built on a Mitsubishi Lancer platform, the Caliber has been planned to go toe-to-toe with the VW Golf and Mazda 3. The Caliber is expected to debut in early 2006 as a 2007 model.

Nitro – Dodge gets a small SUV, the Nitro which is a rebadged and slightly reworked Jeep Liberty. As is customary with all contemporary Dodges, the Nitro sports the Dodge crosshair grille and unique wheel arches. Everything else about the Nitro is expected to be virtually the same as the Liberty including engine and transmission choices. The Nitro is expected to debut late in 2006.

Charger Coupe – Okay, I am dreaming. So are a lot of other people who are just itching for Dodge to release a two door version of the awesome Charger. The word about Charger is this: half the people like the sedan and the other half are disappointed it wasn’t developed as a coupe. No confirmation has been made, but a coupe may show up in late 2007 joining with [not replacing] the current sedan.

Love Those Vans – Chrysler is nearing the end of the life cycle for the current crop of minivans which still outsells any competitor on the market. Stow ‘N Go has been such a popular hit that any redesign will be built around this nifty feature. Expect the newest rendition of the Caravan and the Chrysler Town and Country to show up some time in 2008.

So, there you have it. The division that at one time gave us the Aries K and Omni now features the Viper, Ram, Dakota, Durango, and a host of other exciting vehicles. Dodge fans are pinching themselves hoping that it isn’t all a dream. Well, it isn’t and the upcoming models promise to uphold Dodge"s new found place in The Chrysler Group.

Dodge: Awesome and Invigorated! PDF Print E-mail

If you are a car fan you know that part of the fun of following the market is examining new models as they enter the showroom. There is just something special about a new car: the smell, the look, the price tag! For some 17 million American drivers a new car is in their future, while many others opt for the used car market. Some of the cars on the market today are hot, hot, hot! Let’s take a look at several new and future offerings from Dodge.

Thanks in part to new ownership [Daimler Benz purchased the Chrysler Corporation in 1998] a fresh infusion of great looking Dodge models have hit a showroom near you. Additional models are soon to appear and the makeover that Dodge has been receiving is nothing less than astounding. Here are some of my favorites:

Magnum - Who said that a station wagon should resemble a family hauler? The Magnum sure doesn’t. With an intimidating grille and a rakish exterior, the Magnum is a true man pleaser while also giving women a bit extra room in the back to haul stuff. Throw in a Hemi and the Magnum truly rocks!

Charger – Okay, so the new Charger has four doors. Well, you can’t have everything. You can have macho looks, a powerful engine, and a car that is certain to compete with anything that Japan or Germany throws its way. Word has it that DaimlerChrysler is considering a coupe version. Now, wouldn’t that be cool!

Caliber - Bye, bye Neon. The Neon served Dodge well, but it isn’t in the same caliber as the Caliber. Pun intended. To be introduced in Spring 2006 as a 2007 model, the Caliber will have three engine choices: 1.8, 2.0, and 2.4 I4s, a continuously available transaxle, and all wheel drive. In addition, 2.0L diesel engines will be available outside of the North American market – why not here? – as DaimlerChrysler sets to introduce the Dodge name into new markets.

Other Dodge vehicles that are getting noticed include the Ram and Dakota pick up trucks, the Durango SUV and the soon to be introduced Dodge Nitro, the division’s version of the compact Jeep Liberty. Oh, yeah, who could forget the 510-hp V10 Viper? Can you say, Corvette beater?

One word you can’t associate with Dodge anymore is the word, “boring.” Exciting cars, trucks, and SUVs for a market craving these types of hot vehicles. I guess the “ram” insignia really does befit the name.
